Our President Dr. John Freeman

Dr. Bob Ream founded Mountaineer Baptist College/Seminary in 1990. Although it originated in Fairmont, West Virginia, the school has since relocated in Salem, West Virginia and has retained the basic philosophy and strong convictions based upon the Scriptures. The College is a local church ministry of the Lighthouse Baptist Church and holds to the same doctrinal position as the church.

Our approach of study is toward a thorough and precise education, which is feasible and attainable. We are able to equip the student and scholar with a quality education for use in the service of our Lord.

Our desire is to send forth students to be servants in the work of God. Servanthood was the aim of Christ and is the goal of Mountaineer Baptist college/Seminary. We hope to equip each student with knowledge to attain his calling, without regard to his position in service.

Provided in the curriculum is an opportunity to receive an affordable education while doing the work of God at home. Each student, whether resident or extension, is given sound instruction based upon the King James Version of the Bible. Until He comes!

Our Vice President Dr. George W. Heitman

The Bible says, "And the things that thou has heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. "(II Timothy 2:2).

The goal of MBC is to fulfill this Bible command to teach God's Word to others so that they, in turn, can teach still more.

It has been an honor and a joy to be associated with MBC since its beginning. The first year I served on the Board of Reference and as a substitute teacher.

Since then I have remained as a board member and full-time teacher. I look forward to fulfilling the Biblical command of II Timothy 2:2.
